31 Day Challenge: Day 10: Gradient!

Does this mani remind you of something? Yesterday’s rainbow mani, perhaps? I didn’t realize how similar they were until I was editing photos! When I like something, I really like it and of course it didn’t help that I did this mani immediately after the rainbow mani. I used Zoya Zuza, Apple, and one of my new Color Club polishes. Blues/greens are my favorite so no surprise I was drawn to these colors. I topped it all with Spoiled Pet my Peacock, because these colors reminded me of peacock feathers. I wish I had a cool feather stamp or peacock design.
Enough talk, here’s the pics:

Do you see again the troubles I have with these type of polishes? My cuticle areas are a mess! Just ignore that part and look at the GLITTER!

I really liked this, I hated to remove it. Tomorrow is polka dots, so be sure to come back tomorrow and in the mean time, check out my partners in crime!

31 Day Challenge: Day 4: Green!

I was a little worried about this one! In case you have not forgotten the nightmare of the last Zoya Apple mani, here it is. I think I redeemed myself! I love this color so much, though I was just at Ulta and I spied Zoya Ivanka –yeah, I might like that one a little more. I guess I need both, really. So here’s Apple!

Maybe I could have used another coat; these pics are 2 coats. On my middle finger I used some nail art polish and I tried to put some neon yellow dots  but they are too sheer. You know me, I was not going to start over, especially since my lines turned out pretty good! I must sacrifice bad dots for good lines. lol.
I like this pic better, it shows the light shining through the gem. Ooooh pretty! :)

Guys, in case I have not mentioned before, my job requires me to handle paper, like, a LOT. So I get some paper cuts and scrapes on my fingers a lot. I will try to crop them out as much as I can but sometimes they will be visible. So sorry!
I love green, so can’t wait to see what the other girls cooked up today! Check ‘em out!

Zoya Apple: A Tragedy

Well, here it is. The most gorgeous color I own, RUINED. Yep. This is the 2nd attempt at doing some sort of stamping/nail art on Zoya Apple, and both times I hated it. I wanted to try again after the first FAIL (which I may show you sometime soon) and had just bought China Glaze Liquid Crystal. Guys this was so awful. Plus, you can see on my ring finger where the glitter TOOK OFF part of the base coat after I seriously messed up the stamping.
But the Zoya Apple is great. This color really stands out all on its own so the extras just ruin it. (…covers my eyes while you look at this disaster…)

Do you see what I mean? I did not want to do this mani again, because I do not want to waste all of my Zoya Apple on ugly manis! So I left it as it was, and removed it immediately (OH and didn’t clean up either or do anything to my cuticles. I was too depressed.) I used Pure Ice Silver Mercedes to stamp the lizards, and the glitter is China Glaze Liquid Crystal. I had just bought the CG and was dying to use it.
Meh.
Oh, and I just realized that my lizards have no heads. WTH.

Hello and Welcome!

Hello all!

My name is Erin and this is going to be my little blog about my beauty escapades.

Recently I have been becoming more and more interested in nail art/nail design.  I already have a nail polish obsession and most of the supplies I need, so its time to cultivate it! Instead of clogging my Facebook page with pictures of my nails, this will be my outlet. I don't expect to get many readers or followers, but this will be my little space for documenting all of my attempts, and also any cool products or tips/tricks I learn.

From reading other nail blogs, I've noticed that most of the lovely ladies do their nails daily. It takes me so long to do a decent mani, that I will probably only have one or two a week to share. I attend grad school at night and work full time, so trying to achieve the perfect mani sometimes takes a back seat to a 70 page group project. :)

To begin, here's a picture of my sweet girl, Riley. Expect to see lots of her on here, she is my 'baby Boxer.' Notice her nails are festive green for St. Patrick's Day celebrating! Doesn't she look so excited!

Today I have plans to work on a new manicure, I just bought some new polishes at Sally's yesterday so I have been excited to try them out. I will also be on Spring Break this week so I will have lots of time to experiment!
